The Incident:
42-92468 (MSN 12272) transferred to RAF as FZ677 under contract AC-28405, requisition 7204. Crashed 15 miles (24 km) SW of Reykjavik, Iceland while on ferry flight from Reykjavik to Prestwick, March 7. 1944.
Crash site location information above are not accurate. On March 5. 1944 another Dakota crash was reported in the area and the location of that crash is not accurate either. Only one crash site has been located in the area and the confusing information on location has made it difficult to find out which wreck it is, the March 5. Crash or the March 7. Crash.
